Over de expositie

"...the bitch of Vanity Fair was so proud she made it really easy to get us kidnapped..." / "...I had a lover in Cuba...we should all have a lover in Cuba..." / "...With no more information than the name of the town of Zakho, I boarded the taxi of Haisam-who-spoke-no-English-or-French, and we were off..." / "...I was shown into a large neon-lit room with a desk at one end and brown leather armchairs lining the walls on both sides. At the desk was seated a large man with black eyes, short-cut hair and fat cheeks. He did not smile. Suddenly, I felt the folly of having barged in here — the heathen, with no real faith, and dubious legitimacy. Then the interrogation began. I had seen it coming...”/… "

Our upcoming exhibition “Photographers Night. The voice of cameramen and women” is constructed on one evening: “Photographers Night. The voice of cameramen and women.”

During this special event four photographers are persuaded to share insight into their own working practice and experience within their work field, giving collectors and other invitees access to some poignant moments. The account by these cameramen and women of unforeseen edges and personal encounters during their exploring and investigating endeavours will ‘pull us back to the land underneath us’; i.e. the real world of work, art and life, and what traces it has left on their work.

Cameramen and women participating are: Katharine Cooper, Desiree Dolron, Jeroen Robert Kramer and Martin Usborne.

Photographers Night is for like-minded creatives, artists, curators and enthusiasts who would like to meet and be involved in the life of these cameramen and women.
