Maria Roosen (Oisterwijk NL, 1957) lives and works in Arnhem and studied at The Arnhem Academy of Art and Design and Moller Institute in Tilburg. Recently her work was on view in the solo exhibitions ‘Vuur’, Kunsthal KaDe, Amersfoort (NL); ‘Looking Back’ in Park, Tilburg. Exhibitions with Roosen’s work include: ‘Freedom – fifty key dutch artworks since 1968, De Fundatie, Zwolle (NL); Spiegeloog, Museum Arnhem (NL); ‘Best Mooi’ with Lily van der Stokker, Galerie Fons Welters, Amsterdam (NL); ‘Middle Gate’, curated by Jan Hoet, Geel (BE); ‘Maria's, Maria's’, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam (NL); Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Deurle (BE); M HKA, Antwerp; Museum Kunst Palast, Dusseldorf (DE). Roosen's work was part of the exhibition at the Dutch pavilion at Venice Biennial 1995 and is held in the collection of amongst others Museum Arnhem; Museum Boijmans van Beuningen; Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.
