Snapshots of everyday life are the source for my work. I am fascinated by these isolated fragments of time. They are selected for paintings on a certain emptiness in composition and atmosphere. The realistic style of painting is a way to give the illusion that everything is clear and understandable at the first glance. On second hand there needs to be a subtle sense of alienation. I am interested in using technical flaws of photography in my paintings to accentuate and deepen this feeling.
