Olu Ajayi  (1963)  

Olu Ajayi was born in Ososo, Edo State. In 1984 he earned his Higher National Diploma in Painting from Auchi Polytechnic. Working as a cartoonist for the Nigerian Observer, based in Benin City between 1980-1982 he later became a full-time artist based in Lagos.

Olu was a chairman of the Society of Nigerian Artists, Lagos State Chapter. He is also a trustee of the Visual Arts Society of Nigeria and the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria. He has exhibited in Nigeria, Europe and America and he takes on a variety of themes and styles - from banal items such as chairs or a single figure in repose, to more ethereal ideas such as ‘the spirit of fertility’.
